Gameweek 13- Match Reports

Ladies 1s

Ladies 1s secured a valuable 3 points away at Tunbridge Wells yesterday with a 2-0 win! I scored the first goal from a short corner within 10 mins and then promptly missed a flick as I started dreaming about my hat trick. Lucie Fish scored the second with a worldy at the beginning of the 2nd half, dribbling round half the defence and firing it in low.

Not sure who man of the match was. I’d have a guess at Mandy or Lucie Fish but Faith Newland was definitely DoD for ‘not realising’ training was on last Tuesday.

And so we finish for Xmas mid table. The elite athletes will of course be monitoring their xmas food and drink consumption. Happy Christmas!

Ladies 2s

Ladies 2s took on top of the table Old Loughts at 10am this morning. These are the only facts I remember, I am pretty sure there was some hockey played, Fi Pennie scored a goal and Old Loughts scored 2. Not in that exact order I might add. There were also some green cards handed out to Nicky VG. I deservedly got DOD for arriving still drunk from the night before and needing to return home as I forgot my stick, hence this quality match report! MOM Lynsey Douglas. Happy Christmas everyone!

Ladies 3s

Ladies 3s played a very close game against Old Loughts today. Despite their youthful legs and our lack of subs, we worked really hard and played some lovely hockey. It was on the whole a very defensive game, so massive well done to the defence (most of whom are unwilling defenders) and Martha.

However, in the first half, Zoe had an excellent break, which she crossed to me and I swept into the goal, putting us 1-0 up at half time. Unfortunately, an absolute barrage of short corners (I genuinely lost count) against us in the second half put the final score at 2-1 to Old Loughts.

Seriously excellent play today ladies. Player of the match went to Kim for some epic saves. Special mention for Helen for playing with a chest infection.

Ladies 4s

Despite only having 9 players the Ladies 4s drew 2-2 against Brentwood today. It was such a fantastic effort by everyone and everyone gave 100%. Kwai and Jacqui scored and Minty did an amazing job in goal. The players of the match are EVERYONE! So well done Sophie, Georgina, Katie, Sian, Jacqui, Kwai, Mel and Minty you were all fantastic!
