Safeguarding

Waltham Forest Hockey Club is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and positive environment for everyone involved with hockey; whether players, coaches, umpires, volunteers or supporters.

Safeguarding is the process of protecting children and adults from harm by providing safe and effective care. For us, that means safeguarding the welfare of young people and adults at our Club and protecting them from poor practice, abuse and bullying.

It is everyone’s responsibility to safeguard our Club members.

England Hockey believes that all young people have the right to be safe and enjoy their involvement in hockey and is committed to promoting the welfare of all young people in our sport to protect them from harm alongside the hockey family. In this instance, a young person is defined as anyone under the age of 18.
