Junior Coaching Team

Meet The Junior Team:

Everyone here is a volunteer – amazing! Some are here week in week out, and others more “ad hoc” coaches when time permits them.

All have DBS checked, attended Safeguarding Children courses. Many have first aid.

phil+wardy Philippa Leguen de Lacroix
Head of Youth. Level 2 England Hockey.
Lead coach for the U14 Girls, U16 Girls and U8s/U6s coach. Loves scoring goals.
Matthew - back row somewhere Matthew Hale
Lead Boys U14/U12 coach. Level 1 experienced England Hockey coach.
Matthew is captain of the Otters team (men’s 5s) which encourages & develops the teenagers in adult matches.
Richard Farrow
Another lead coach for the U14 & U16 boys. Was a regular WFHC player from back in 1989… and has returned to action!
Robert Boulton
Rob is a hockey player and parent of Eliza who plays. He’s lead coaching the U12 girls this year. He’s calm, clear, and enthusiastic!
Peter Clark
Peter coaches the U10 boys, helps the Otters team and gets a run out at social hockey. Peter has a Sessional Coaching Qualification from England Hockey. Peter offers a lot of time to the juniors, he could be classed as a junior legend.
Dan Smith
Dan will be coaching some Performance Mondays sessions for the teens this year. You will catch him practicing his drag flicking before & after training.
Martin O’Donnell
Martin is a Goal Keeper and a GK coach for the juniors!
Martin is our Welfare Officer so please do raise any concerns you have with him.
Emma Edwards
A teacher by trade, Emma has been lead coaching the U10 girls. Her U12 daughter Ida plays hockey as does Emma!
Ian Russell
Ian is a dad who has been helping our coaching team since 2018. He’s coached the u10 boys, and now the u12 boys.
Kelly Brady
Kelly is a local primary school teacher, parent of U12 Jasmine and ladies 4s player. Kelly helps to coach the U10 girls.
Graeme Bell
Another “dad coach” who we have roped into helping! Since 2018, Graeme has been helping coach the U10 girls.
Sella Kagoya
Sella is one of our very talented U18 players and coaches. She has been volunteer coaching since she was 15 and is inspiring, fun and has some killer skills. Sella plays in our L1 team.
Chisomo Kagoya
Chiso helps to coach the U12 boys. He’s also U18 and leads by example. He’s calm, patient, and very encouraging. A very talented player for the Men’s 1st team of the club.
