Match Reports (Current Season)

24th February 2018

Mixed

Our mixed squad made themselves available this afternoon for the last league match of the season against City Slickers. Unfortunately, the Slickers didn’t have enough players and conceded the game. This result means we finished in the top 4 and will make the March play offs. Whoohoo!

We split the available players and had a good 8 a-side friendly in the sunshine and I’m awarding DoD to Pricey for wearing leggings.

Men’s 2s

On a sunny afternoon in Woodford, WFHC Men’s 2s played Crostyx.

We lost 10-3. The result aside, it was a mixed affair. Kieran had a hand casualty, we scored from the first play of the match, played with three left backs, and we had some comedy tantrums

Goals came from Falk and Nads (x2). The new kit worked it’s magic!

Big up to all for cracking team spirit, and especially Immy, Kam and Biel doubling up.

MoM: David Stark. Great stint in DM and plenty of hustle and fire. The North clearly remembers

PoP: Myself. For crimes against blue and burgundy, being 30, and not kicking the ball enough. Oh and also winning a great freehit by falling over.

Otters

An under-strength Otters team travelled to Chelmsford and dominated the match, limiting our hosts to just one shot in the whole game. The only criticism of an excellent all-round team performance was that we scored only one goal, from Dhillon, for the most comfortable of 1-0 wins.

Ladies 1s

The ladies 1s played away at Havering today in beautiful sunshine and icy temperatures!

Isabelle rocked up in a pair of awesome trainers (internationalists)…Sam Fish- you’d have been proud!

Uzair got lost in the school.

Amy found a massive haggis poo in the toilet.

Philippa always carries green magnets in a poo bag with her. Just in case.

I scored a goal and no-one (including me) celebrated. It was a rather shit goal.

Fi got a green card and packed her bags when she got off the pitch as she thought that she couldn’t come back on!!

Amy got a green card for a special tackle…but Emily thought it was worthy of the ‘best defensive move’ award. Not sure what that says…

Laura couldn’t talk much and when she did it didn’t make sense. Possibly still drunk.

Ozzy swore a lot at us at half time. We deserved it.

Katherine scored from open play! Wohoo!!

Harriet has a balloon for a knee and two very good grazes,we’re not entirely sure why.

Anyway…we WON!!! 2-0!! A massive result as it was a six pointer!! If anyone is unclear as to what this means,Harri will tell you…

Lynsey was bloody awesome and got MoM and Fi got DoD for thinking her green card meant she was off for the rest of the game.

Men’s 5s

The Men’s 5’s hosted a reverse fixture against top of the table Tower Hamlets at the Academy today. Choosing my words carefully I’ll just say that their attitude hasn’t changed.

We argued over who was providing the umpires, push back was delayed 30 mins, it wasn’t a very pleasant game, we lost 6-0 and they didn’t come back for teas.

Over and out.
